Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the MealRadar mobile app ("MealRadar", "the app", "we"). They are written in plain language and reflect how the app works today. If the terms change, we will update this page.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, accessing, or using MealRadar, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What MealRadar does
MealRadar helps you scan groceries and recipes, manage pantry-related information, generate cooking and meal-plan ideas, and reduce food waste. It can use AI to suggest recipes and meal plans based on your pantry and preferences. You can use it as a guest, or create an account for account features.
3. Eligibility and responsible use
You are responsible for using MealRadar lawfully and sensibly, and for the information you enter. Some features (such as creating an account, using AI features, or buying Premium) may have an age requirement described in the app. Please follow the in-app guidance about eligibility.
4. Accounts and security
You can use MealRadar as a guest, or create an account with an email address and password. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Contact us if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
5. Your content and local data
Much of your content - such as pantry items, saved recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and settings - is stored locally on your device. Local app data may remain device-specific and may not sync across devices. The Privacy Policy explains what is stored on the device and what may be sent to our backend.
6. AI features and scan processing
When you use AI features, relevant inputs are sent to our backend, which reaches the AI provider (OpenAI) through a Supabase Edge Function; the app does not call OpenAI directly. When you use scan-based AI features, the photo or camera image you choose to scan may also be sent to our backend and the AI provider only to process the scan you requested. 7. Not professional advice
MealRadar is a cooking and food-waste convenience tool. It is not medical, nutritional, dietary, allergy, or food-safety advice, and it is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional.
8. AI and scan results - your responsibility to review
AI suggestions and scan results are estimates and conveniences. They may be inaccurate or incomplete and are not guaranteed. You are responsible for reviewing results and for checking ingredients, allergens, expiry dates, food safety, and suitability before relying on them.
9. Subscriptions and Premium
MealRadar may offer optional Premium features through an auto-renewing subscription. Premium unlocks certain features described in the app at the time of purchase.
10. App Store billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Where you purchase a subscription through Apple, billing, auto-renewal, cancellation, and refunds are managed through your Apple App Store account and follow Apple's / the App Store's rules. You can manage or cancel an active subscription in your App Store account settings. We do not separately process those payments.
11. Account deletion and support
You can delete your account from within the app, and instructions are also on the Account & Data Deletion page. For help, see the Support page or contact us using the email below.
12. Service availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue parts of MealRadar over time, and availability may be affected by factors outside our control. We may also update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Disclaimers and limitation
MealRadar is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses resulting from your reliance on AI suggestions, scan results, or other app output, or from your use of the app.
